Dear Betsy, How do you soften brown sugar that has hardened?
Signed,
Abigail New Britain Ct
Dear Abigail New Britain Ct:
Dear Abigail, Brown sugar hardens as it loses its moisture. There are a couple of ways to soften it. First you can place the open bag of sugar in the microwave with a cup of water. Microwave on high two to three minutes rotating the bag after every minute.
You can also place the sugar in a container. Place either a piece of foil or plastic wrap on the sugar. Place a dampened paper towel directly on the wrap or foil. Cover the container tightly. Remove the paper towel when it has dried out. The sugar be softened.
